ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY: KIDS

This post is about environmental health and safety in the home and how kids are being affected.

There are so many wonderful things to be grateful for in today’s world, and most parents would agree that their children would be at the top of the list.  They do everything they can to see to their kids’ health and welfare.

Keeping the house clean is a major factor in adding to children’s health and wellness, but many parents don’t realize the products they use to clean with can actually be making their kids sick.

Safety in the home…A True Story

Roger and Sloan were terrified when their little boy started having acute asthma attacks. They rushed him to the hospital numerous times where fortunately, the physicians were able to save him.

Sloan, an investigative reporter,  set to work to find the reason for her son’s asthma.  She asked both sets of grandparents if there were any known cases of asthma in their family’s previous generations. The answers were, “none at all.”

She figured, if his illness wasn’t congenital, it must be environmental, and started a search to find the cause.

What she found to her dismay, was that her cleaning products were the culprits.  Who would have thought that keeping a home “clean” could cause so much illness and stress?

Then she discovered that almost all household cleaners contain toxic chemicals, including the ones she was using!

So now that Sloan found the problem she searched for the solution.

She discovered that  safe, green cleaners were the answer…researched many “green” companies and chose one whose products are chemical-free and are healthy for families and the environment, are effective and economical.

After immediately replacing all her old cleaners with the green ones, their son has not had another asthma attack to date…some five + years later.

P.S. They loved the products so much that Roger bought the company!

P.P.S.  Sloan did a presentation of the cleaners for the White House staff and the Blair House staff (the Vice-Presidents’ residence.)  President Obama’s daughter Malia has asthma and the first family was delighted to find help for her.

So now both of these homes are cleaned with the products from Roger’s company.
By the way, Oprah loves them too!
